QCells

Venture Government Strategies has signed on to represent Qcells America, operator of the largest solar module factory in the US.

A subsidiary of Korea-based Hanwha Solutions Group, QCells announced in 2023 a plan to invest more than $2.5B to build a complete solar supply chain in the US.

That marks the largest solar investment in America, and was spurred by the passage of the Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act within Joe Biden's Inflation Reduction Act.

Qcells opened its first factory in Dalton, GA in 2019 and hired 750 people to manufacture 1.7 GW of solar power. With the completion of supply chain, Quells expects to have a 4K-member US work force and solar capacity of 8.4 GW.

Venture keeps its eye out for federal appropriations that might be available to its client.

Former Kansas Republican Congressman Kevin Yoder heads Venture’s Qcells team, which includes his former chief of staff David Natonski and Hamilton Bloom, former aide to Alabama Republican Sen. Richard Shelby.
